A fabulous and highly decorative pair of French vintage bergere single beds.I have left them exactly as I found them so they can either be cleaned and polished or stripped and painted.
The beds probably date from the late 19th / early 20th century and have wonderful carved rose/floral garland crests to the headboards and leaf and berry motifs to the frame work..Whilst they are a matching pair they are not a matched pair ie. there are some minor differences in the carvingswhich are only noticeable on closer scrutiny and only mention out of accuracy.
Some knocks and chips commensurate with age and usage.
These beds are listed as found and have probably spent some time in storage so would benefit from a clean and polish.The Bergere to the headboards is in good condition however the foot board panels will require some repair or replacement. Alternatively the bergere could be removed and the head and foot boards upholstered.
The frames are raised on elegant casters.
There is no evidence of worm.
